(Dallas, TX) - The C2C (Coast-2-Coast Lacrosse) Spider Monkeys win the championship at the Dick's Lone Star Shootout. They defeated 3D Select, from Denver, Colorado, 8-7 for the Boys 3/4 A division championship. Over 100 teams from 6 states competed in the Dick's Lone Star Shootout, one of the premier lacrosse tournaments in the Southwest with an estimated 5,000 in attendance daily.

"The under 11 C2C Spider Monkeys recently played in the Dick's Lone Star Shootout. This was the very first tournament in which this particular collection of players had ever competed. The team was comprised of players from the ESD, Greenhill, and Parish schools.

Early on, the C2C Spider Monkeys spent some time getting to know their teammates' tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses. It did not take long for the squad to start finding the back of the net. In pool play, the Monkeys faced two competitive local teams from a neighboring club. After day one the Spider Monkeys were two and zero, with 19 goals for and 4 against.

Day two opened with a stiff test against 3D Select from Denver, CO. After a back-and-forth battle, the Monkeys came out victorious, only to face that same 3D team in the championship. 3D opened strong and raced out to a three-goal lead. The Spider Monkey put the clamps on defensively and the offense did the rest. The Spider Monkeys came away with the 8 to 7 win and some hardware for the trophy case!

C2C Coast-2-Coast Lacrosse- C2C is committed to producing student-athletes that are respected and highly regarded throughout the lacrosse community on local and national levels. C2C is designed to instill confidence in young players that will allow them to be successful on and off the athletic fields. These ideals and principles established on C2C's opening in Dallas, Texas in the fall of 2007,  are now adopted by our newly opened C2C academies in Raleigh, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia. C2C is committed to growing the sport of lacrosse in a manner that is respected and hopefully emulated by other organizations.

C2C offers select team travel, coaches’ education, specialty clinics, as well as position-specific training. We want to prepare our student-athletes to be successful inside and outside the lines. The skills obtained through C2C participation are designed complement community team teachings in an effort to create more parity in the lacrosse world.
